    scuba dive Whiskeytown

I would like to get a few people together for a dive at whiskeytown. The more the better, not sure how many divers there are. But I'm itching to go and need some buddies down there.

Summer 2011 - Frogs in Trinity Alps

NEXT year. Putting out feelers here. In Summer 2011 I want to do a trip to Poison Canyon / Lilypad Lake (Ycatapom Peak topo map) area with side trip to Found Lake. This is Trip 9 in Linkhart's "Trinity Alps" book (4th ed). ... Read moreMy purpose - Found Lake is known to have a good population of Cascades Frog, a montane species that is all but wiped out in Shasta County, and I want to host a small group interested in seeing a species that use to be extremely plentiful in Lassen NP and hopefully someday will be again. Even if you do not like frogs, it should be a beautiful trek, but I would love an opportunity to share some natural history of the slimy variety with interested people. We won't be handling the frogs (illegal, protected species), but they are easy to observe without handling. It should be a 3 day weekend giving two nights of camping and one day of natural history exploration (and not just frogs) and will require backpacking in. Kids welcome. No dogs. Interest?

Exploring the Area on your motorcycle

I have never seen any motorcycle rides posted and was wondering if anyone else within the group has an interest in some rides. We have such a beautiful area to ride in (?) I own a Yamaha V-Star that sits much to much.

    Get Rolling on Rollerblades!!!

Closet rollerblades: One who has rollerblades that live in the closet. Most are several years old, have been tried on once or twice, yet have never rolled a mile anywhere. Owners often heard to say...?someday...?

Let?s make ?someday? real soon... No excuses. Time to get those closet rollerblades out to participate in this great aerobic exercise? It should be either before the fall winds and rain or in April or May. There are some good places to learn. Experienced skaters should guide beginners. Who knows, it could be the start of something great! Any takers?

    Skydiving!

If you ever wanted to hurl yourself out of a perfectly good aircraft, now is your chance.

We are planning to go skydiving down in Davis California July 25th. There are two options:

Option 1- Tandem. This requires a two to three ... Read morehour course, and you are strapped to the instructor. He or she is in control, and will pull the ripcord themselves. I believe you jump from 13,000 feet which allows approximately 1 minute of freefall, followed by a ten to fifteen minute drift. The basic package for the tandem jump is $199.00. You may pay extra for pictures or video.

Option 2- Accelerated Free Fall (AFF). This is a 7-8 hour class, and you jump from 13,000 feet. You exit the aircraft with two instructors holding on to you. You pull your own ripcord, and they will not let go of you until your chutes pulls you out of their grasp. More on that later. This basic package is $349.00.

Classes start at 8:00 A.M. , so we will need to leave early. Would be great to carpool.

    Let me know,
    Michael
