Mount Shasta
This will be a 4-day mountaineering seminar and climb of Mt. Shasta, via the Hotlum-Bolam Ridge route, on the northeast side of the mountain.
The seminar is titled "Glacier Seminar I: Introduction to Mountaineering", and is being offered by Shasta Mountain Guides.
Here's the course description:
Our series of Glacier Seminars begins with the fundamentals of mountaineering and include more than a summit climb. Ice axe and crampon use, route selection, roped travel, anchors and belays are all covered in depth and hands on during this 4 day seminar. The final challenge is a summit climb on the Hotlum-Bolam Ridge, Shasta's northeast aspect which provides incredible scenery while crossing expansive glaciers. Designed for the aspiring mountaineer who wants to establish a solid foundation of mountain skills capped with an alpine start en route to Shasta’s summit!
Cost for the course is $695, which includes main meals: breakfasts and dinners, tents, community gear, cooking equipment, ropes when needed, and all passes and permits.
fyi - I got an email from Shasta Mountain Guides. There are currently 6 slots available for the course.
